National Screening tests

The NHS offers a number of screening tests aimed either at detecting precancerous conditions [cervical smear test] or very early cancers [breast screening and bowel screening]
We strongly advise our patients to take up these tests. They are all by invitation and a letter will be sent to those who are eligible. 

If you have lost your invitation or think you have been missed out or have missed an appointment, you can still have your tests. Please speak to reception, the practice nurse or the doctor.  For replacement of bowel screening kits you can phone  0800 0121 833

  • Child health surveillance - under 5's clinic held on Wednesday 09:00 - 11:00 with the doctor and health visitor - by appointment.
  • Maternity services - antenatal care with the midwife on Thursday 09:30 - 12:00.

 To book an appointment for any of these service please contact reception. If you are looking for travel advice please download and complete the questionnaire or ask for a form at reception. Please return this to reception and they will pass it to the Practise Nurse. Please call back a few days later and the receptionist will advise you what, if any vaccination/malaria prevention etc is advised and make an appointment with the nurse to have this carried out. Some vaccines are not provided on the NHS and you will need to pay for them. This also applies to Malaria tablets. The practice will make a small charge for the prescription and the pharmacist will charge for the tablets. Yellow fever vaccination is only carried out in specialist centres, but we can advise you where these are and how to contact them.Travel Questionnaire
